Job Title: General Construction Worker
Reports To: Construction Supervisor
Supervises: None
Position Summary: The General Construction Worker position is integral to the success of the construction department. An ideal candidate must have previously worked in a construction/maintenance field and must possess a knowledge of hand/power tools, trade language, procedures, and building materials. The ideal candidate must have a willingness to learn new skills and techniques
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform a variety of general construction and repair duties at various job sites as required
- Follow through on verbal and written tasks as directed by Supervisor.
- Demonstrate safe work habits and knowledge of safety rules and instructions while performing job functions
- Load and unload equipment, tools, and materials at various job sites.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area. Remove scrap and debris from the job site.
- Assist crew lead with all job related tasks. This includes cutting and labeling material, screw bossing bays, framing doors, installing hardware on the door, installing gutters and downspouts, screening, installing t-bolts, and caulking seams.
- Maintain power tools and equipment
- Operate equipment efficiently and safely
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2+ years experience in construction, maintenance or Associates Degree in HVAC, Plumbing, or
Carpentry preferred
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Must have reliable transportation to be able to report to work on-time every day.
- A record of exemplary attendance on the job is required
- An average knowledge of residential construction principles and materials is required
- Ability to perform constant physical labor, operate tools and machinery, and lift at least 80 lbs. is required
- Ability to work in wet, damp, hot, cold, or dusty places required
- Ability to stoop or kneel in order to gain access to work areas required
- Ability to work while standing for extended periods of time required
- Ability to climb ladders and walk-boards up to 16 feet.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both individual and group settings required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
